Gemma Collins has shared photos of herself hooked up to a drip as she revealed she is still battling the effects of Covid.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star took to Instagram to give her 2.2 million followers an update on her health.

Her predicament comes less than 24 hours after she was celebrating Valentine’s Day with boyfriend Rami Hawash by cooking him a romantic meal at home.

Speaking to fans, the GC said: “So guys today I am poorly. Since having Covid it’s really weird. It’s like I have these days where I literally cannot do a thing.

“I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this, but it is just so weird.”

The 41-year-old revealed a nurse had come to her Essex home to administer the treatment.

Gemma said: “This is my lovely nurse, Ninna, and she has come to give me a drip – because there are effects after Covid isn’t there Ninna?

“Why is it with the Covid that one day you are absolutely fine after you’ve had it and you’ve got loads of energy, then boom, you’ve got no energy.’

The nurse explains it depends on each individual and everyone has different side effects.

As the nurse gets ready to leave, Gemma jokes: “Can you stay? Don’t go Ninna. Come, come!”

Sharing another photo, a drained-looking Gemma looks at the camera as she is hooked up to the drip.

She captioned the post: “Exhausting effects after Covid, one day you feel fine, the next just awful.”

It’s not the first time Covid has affected Gemma and her family – as back in 2020 both her parents were struck down with the virus.

While her mum Joan suffered milder symptoms, her dad Alan had to be hospitalised and at one point Gemma thought they might lose him.

Speaking on her BBC podcast at the time, Gemma said: “Both of my parents have had Covid. My dad is still in hospital now. He’s literally been fighting for his life.

“It has been one awful time of it but I’m so happy to be back chatting with you all.”

She went on: “Things are so difficult. It is relentless at the moment with everything going on. I am finding myself juggling so many plates.

“It’s been a real shock to myself and my family with my dad being in hospital.”

Posting a photo of herself holding her dad’s hand as he lay in hospital, Gemma said she was sharing it to “create awareness of how real Covid is”.

Thankfully, Alan made a full recovery and Gemma shared a picture with him on her Instagram page last summer.

“We was so lucky my dad pulled through,” Gemma captioned the photo, adding a pink love heart emoji.
