Gemma Atkinson fears her new job is ‘totally out of her comfort zone’ as she’s comforted by fiancé Gorka Marquez on her first day.

The 37-year-old actress took to her Instagram Stories and told her 1.7 million followers she was suffering from nerves as she prepared to start a mystery new project.

Gemma revealed she and Gorka have a busy year ahead of them, and she explained her brand new job was pushing her out of her comfort zone.

“I start a new job tomorrow, fingers crossed,” she began, as she revealed she the set was ‘PCR dependent’ and all the cast and crew have had to provide negative Covid tests in order to prevent an outbreak of the virus.

The mother-of-one said the new project will be on TV screens ‘throughout the whole of next year’, and it’s been a big step for Gemma.

“It’s amazing. Half of it I’m really comfortable with, I can do it no probs. The other half is completely out of my comfort zone, so far out of my comfort zone,” she confessed.

Gemma was then sweetly comforted by her beau, who reassured her despite her worries.

“I think you’ll be brilliant,” the Strictly Come Dancing professional said.

The actress confirmed she would still be hosting her drivetime show on Manchester’s Hits Radio throughout the year, and will be filming her scenes for her Hollyoaks comeback in January.

“Have you got me tickets? I bet you haven’t even thought about me,” Gemma teased.

“No, because you’re too busy,” Gorka replied.

Gemma is due to begin filming her scenes on Hollyoaks this month, after announcing she would be reprising her role as Lisa Hunter on the Channel 4 soap.

The actress played the role from 2001 to 2006, and said she would be ‘nipping back’ for a brief stint.
