PS5 Argos update as PlayStation consoles back in stock

The PS5 is back in stock at Argos with gaming fans rushing to bag themselves one of the highly sought-after consoles.

Gamers haven’t been put off by the PlayStation5’s price, which can be up to £449.99 for the disc version, the Sony console proving hugely popular with gamers.

The Stock Informer website lists Argos as the only high street store which currently has the PlayStation 5 available for sale.

The retailer has launched a restock of the Playstation 5 Digital Console (£359.99) and the Playstation 5 Standard Console (£449.99) online.

On Tuesday morning the PS5 UK Stock Twitter account wrote: “PS5 is now in-stock at Argos.

“Use the app to add to your basket and search for local stores where its available.

“Some success in the early hours using multiple devices (iOS + Android) but its opened up to more now.”

It seems customers will only be in with a chance of getting hold of a console if your local store has enough stock for delivery or via click and collect options.

The consoles fell victim to a string of hold-ups for parts, in particular an integral part of the machine called the Micro-chi. This includes the global pandemic, as well as a giant shipping container blocking the Suez.

Lucky customers who do manage to get one can expect plenty of top of the line features, such as lightning-fast loading with an ultra high speed SSD and 3D audio technology.

Gamers have been sharing their delight at finally bagging one of the consoles.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Bagged in ps5 at Argos just before they sold oot. Pity it’s fur a mate and no masel.”

Another added: “Just grabbed one. Argos are doing one person per order. Hope you all don’t miss out.”

A third wrote: “PS5 ordered from Argos!!!! Letsss fluffffingggg goooooo!!”

Despite launching more than half a year ago demand for the PS5 console is still high due to a combination of skyrocketing interest in gaming as well as production issues related to the pandemic.

Other retailers such as GAME, Very and Currys are also stating future stock will soon become available. However, they’re selling out quickly.

Smyths opened pre-orders for the console early last week – and sold out just an hour after the announcement.

The Digital console doesn’t have a disc-tray and therefore will set you back £359.99, however if you’re going for the full console with all of the trimmings you’re looking at £449.99.
