Fans of Lotus Biscoff will be pleased to hear that Aldi has released a new biscuit spread, which shoppers say tastes just like the spreadable version of the iconic caramelised biscuits.
The sweet treat, which is available in crunchy and smooth, is new to the budget supermarket and is priced at £1.69. We can imagine how delicious it would taste slathered on hot toast or crumpets.
Shoppers have already taken to social media to rave about the product, pointing out that it tastes similar to Lotus Biscoff spread.
On Twitter, food blogger @FlipThatsDelish wrote: “Damn @ AldiUK Back at it again with the special buys! This new biscuit spread is so good. And you betcha it tastes actually like that other famous spread. Available in smooth or crunchy for £1.69.”
Aldi’s Grandessa Biscuit Spread also happens to be vegan-friendly, so Vegan Food UK shared the product with its followers.
One excited fan commented: “This is amazing! Tastes just like lotus spread but without the soya (they do smooth too).
“I gave my husband some of the lotus and then this and he couldn’t taste the difference. Hopefully they will keep this on as a full time product.”
The £1.69 Grandessa Biscuit Spread is available in Aldi stores across the UK – but shoppers should only pick one up if they are doing an essential shop. You can find your nearest Aldi store using the online store finder.
Lotus Biscoff spread is hugely popular and normally costs around £2.28 for a 400g jar in major supermarkets like Tesco and Asda. You can also buy the spread online from Amazon.
Earlier this month we discovered there are three new Lotus Biscoff biscuits, which contain fillings that taste of Biscoff cream, vanilla and milk chocolate.
Tesco is currently selling the Biscoff cream biscuits in packs of 15 for only £1.39.
