Samantha Giles of Emmerdale says she is wearing a wig on the screen after returning as Bernice

There is plenty of drama Emmerdale Just as her ex-fiancé Liam was engaged to his new love Leila when Bernice Blackstock returned to the village!

“As far as Bernice is concerned, he should have fallen at her feet,” says actress Samantha Giles. “She can’t believe he’s married to Leila. How brave is he?”

Samantha, who gained fame as Bernice in 1998, is delighted to return to the show as Bernice is causing trouble among the newlyweds in Yorkshire Dales.

But after going off screen from the end of 2019, the Flame-Haired Star said OK! That there have been some recent changes she is struggling with …Emmerdale’s Bernice actress Samantha Giles revealed that she is wearing a wig while filming because Covid’s restrictions prohibit hairdressers.

What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed on the Emmerdale set since you left before the pandemic?

My hair and makeup. Due to social distance, we had to do it all ourselves. It’s a nightmare! I can make up, but I’m not good at hair and it’s curly. Bernice is a beautician and always has a cohesive look. So the wardrobe team gave me a wig – but I still have to style it. It sounds precious, but when I have an emotional scene, I don’t want to be absorbed in checking for blush and hair. Conversely, it can be very frustrating for the hair and makeup team. They are probably anxious to reach out to us.

How did you feel about moving from closed loungewear to high heels, nail tips and vernis style?

Well, it’s good to do it as someone else! It’s very natural for Bernice to wear a nice dress and heel. So I would never dress like that – it would be strange. But on the set, I’m running down the village streets with big high heels, and it feels normal. I don’t feel like I’m gone, especially last year because it feels like it’s paused.

But while away from soap, he seems to have had the busiest year ever …

I actually did more than I had ever thought of. Besides homeschooling my two daughters (13-year-old Evelyn and 9-year-old Olivia), I wrote three children’s books. The Rosemary and Pendle Hill Witches are already out, the second Rosemary and the Book of the Dead will come out in October, and the third will come. I love being busy. It also helped me find the routine I needed. There was a really dark day. Your mental health is very vulnerable during these difficult times, so I did everything I could to help myself.

Bernice’s return meant catching up with Gabby, but would it be a happy reunion?

You sound like a high blockade achiever!

No, not at all. You see, I’m the same as everyone else. I’ve seen a lot of this culture of presentation on social media and I’m very much influenced by it. When I was absent from work, there were posts such as “I was able to work”, and I think “What a hell, I’m not doing anything, I can’t do this or that.” But the truth is it’s all about how you sell yourself. And in reality, most people forge it. I have very high expectations for myself, so I find it very difficult to deal with.

Do you have any regrets?

not really. There’s something I want to do differently, but something specific wouldn’t have happened, such as meeting my husband.

I wish I hadn’t been more afraid when I was in college. I should have lived in France on this occasion. I wasn’t confident. Given the work I’m doing, it probably sounds ridiculous. I recognize the same characteristics for my eldest daughter. I always tell her not to be afraid to seize the opportunity.

Is it true that you made a love spell to find your 11-year-old husband, Sean Pritchard?

Okay. I didn’t want to get out of a miserable relationship and mess with my space-wasting boyfriend. I used pagan magic, wrote down exactly what I was looking for, and used candles and crystals.I sell love spells, crystals, stress busters and more online [thesamanthagiles.co.uk]..

Looking forward to turning 50 in July?

No, it’s not. I will continue it. I’m not the one who wants my face and body to do a lot of work.

Are you worried about aging?

I’m always aware of my weight and it looks good thanks to my work. We women are not easy. It is important to protect your health as you get older. I spent a terrible two years in my early 40s and suffered from a debilitating urinary tract infection. It seemed very depressing. I worked as a mother of two young girls and one wife, but I wasn’t sure if I could continue. It’s scary to have sex or drink a glass of wine in case it triggers. In the end, the urologist suggested drinking 2 liters of water a day, which worked miraculously. But while I was suffering, I honestly thought I would never be able to lead a normal life again.

How do you relax

Writing a children’s book gives me a sense of control and relaxes me. In the acting life of my work, I have no control over anything, it all depends on what is offered to me. The writing experience is quite isolated, but it has given me the opportunity to make some creative decisions. It was a nice touch. I am also practicing Reiki, which was very useful last year.

What are the lessons of life you have learned?

Be patient. My personality type is the opposite-I hope things happen quickly and succeed. In reality, things take time. I want to be the next JK Rowling, but these things don’t happen overnight.
