Coronation Street could be set to air a dark story in which Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) has raped Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).
Fans saw scheming Daisy forcibly ply Ryan drinks while inviting him to have sex with her and branding Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) boring in the most manipulative way.
As Ryan got steadily more drunk, he appeared sozzled but remained uncomfortable with Daisy, who also lied to Alya when she asked where her boyfriend was.
By the time Daisy led Ryan through to her bedroom was clearly unable to consent – but how far has she gone. Did she sexually assault him behind closed doors or even go as far as having sex with him; which would be rape?
The fact that Ryan wakes up in her bed with no memory of the night before is a concerning sign and he also has no recollection if Daisy has done anything with him.
Corrie has already established Daisy as a manipulative character, able to make up stories and turn on the waterworks to get sympathy.
And she is taking great pleasure in dividing Ryan and Alya. But how far has she gone to make that happen? Has she committed one of the most serious crimes?
And, if so, will Ryan realise he has been assaulted after being forced to drink so much alcohol under Daisy’s intense pressure?
Speaking recently to Metro.co.uk, Ryan hinted at a potential dark story for his alter ego.
He said to us: ‘I think that hapless nature could be really great within a story that’s a little darker, a little more serious, there’s I think there’s an opportunity for a lot of pathos with Ryan and not that blithe ignorance could be a lot of fun with something a little darker.
I’d like to see him invest in his life and grow up and make a success of himself. I think a lot of this is because he’s wanting to show Alya that he’s somebody, you know, she’s got so much going for her and he very much feels like a nobody after the duration he’s been with her’.
Fans are already calling Daisy out for her sexual assault of Ryan – but how dark is she set to get?
