Smashbox is Saving Becca’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector

S

Becca Cosmetics buffs have really been through it this year, haven’t they? The brand announced their closure in February 2021 (sob), and fans flocked to stock up on their favourites. The two most hoarded products? The Under Eye Brightening Corrector, and adored Champagne Pop Highlighter.

In our opinion, the clamour was justified. The Under Eye Corrector is one of the most easy and effective products we’ve found to oust dark circles. In two seriously pigmented shades, a salmony pink and deep apricot, it perks up skin and conceals any hints of fatigue with one swipe (no exaggeration: this pot is seriously pigmented). Becca say this is down to the ‘Backlight Technology’ in the formula; essentially, some cleverly light-reflecting, pearlescent particles that work to counteract discolouration.

Similarly, Champagne Pop is the highlighter favoured by those in the know. Those who want a warm and ambient glow rather than one resembling a hi vis jacket. Although it’s a powder texture, the finish is not unlike a cream. It melts into skin, leaving a pearlescent, prettified sheen – one that Becca fans were in no way ready to give up.

Thankfully, they don’t have to because Smashbox, a brand owned by Estee Lauder Companies, where Becca used to belong, has given the two bestsellers a new home (hurrah!). They’ll be stocked on smashbox.co.uk from March 2022. Panic no more, people.
